Dedicated I.P. Address
Shared hosting accounts (like yours) use the same I.P. (internet) address for several websites. If one or more of your hosting neighbour's email addresses get compromised by hackers (because easy-to-guess passwords were chosen) and those addresses are used to send SPAM, that shared I.P. address gets blacklisted. That means your ability to send emails is interrupted until the I.P. address is removed from the blacklist. That can take up to 7 or 8 business days after the last SPAM email was sent, as determined by the blacklist operators. More importantly, the ability to get you off of blacklists is largely out of our hands because we don't run the blacklists.
A dedicated I.P. address means we assign your website domain it's own, unique I.P. address. As a result, if your hosting neighbours get blacklisted, you are unaffected. For your domain or I.P. address to get blacklisted, one or more of your email addresses must get hacked and used to send out SPAM.
